Panoramas (and more) from Markus Matern

Dear visitors,

on this site you find some panoramic images I took over the years.

Viewing the panoramas

The panoramic images are spheric panoramas presented in Quicktime format. Therefore you need the Quicktime plugin for your browser to view the panoramas. However this technology is not supported on the various Linux flavours.

Making Of

The panoramas were made using a Konica Minolta Dynax 7D. The lens was a Sigma 8mm fisheye. For the shots above the head I used a monopod, that I held free with the lower end waist-high. It had a custom panorama head to position the lens at the NPP. I usually took four shots around, that means they were 90 apart. Furthermore I used one or two down shots and an additional shot for the sky. The stitching was done using PTGUI, smartblend and panotools. The final retouching was done with the Gimp. The Quicktime panoramas were created using Pano2QTVR.
